Robert Allen’s Multiple Streams of Income

By Multiple Streams of Income • June 3rd, 2009
Robert Allen

Robert Allen’s probably the most preeminent real estate investing guru. He basically started the revolution for putting nothing down to buy a house. This concept, when introduced, back in 1979 was so foreign to people as to be laughable. Yet, he found his niche and became one of the best known real estate investing authors of all time.

Complementing Robert Allen’s “Nothing Down” book, he has written several other best sellers. For example, one of his books “Multiple Streams of Income,” is about generating wealth through a number of different activities. Robert Allen talks about diversifying your investments into stocks, real estate, flippers, buying tax liens, network marketing and more. He’s also written Multiple Streams of Internet Income, The One Minute Millionaire, and many more.

One of the things that characterize Robert Allen and makes him stand out is his straightforward nature. He tells about his strategies in a manner that the normal individual can understand. There are no crazy mathematical formulas that require a PhD to decipher, nor arcane strategies that one would scratch their heads about.

Robert Allen also gives you tons of free materials that others would charge you extra for. For example, the newsletters and special reports about different markets are all free. These reports cost money to discover, write and produce. So, I’m surprised that he does give these products out for free. One other valuable content that he does not charge for are teleseminars, in which he goes over some of his profitable techniques.

It’s interesting to note that Robert Allen is one of the real estate mavens who not only has been around for a long time, but also has written two New York Times best-sellers. It’s clear that millions of people have read his books. They’ve clearly learned some real estate investing techniques that stand the test time, in both recessionary and boom times.

Now, Robert Allen’s techniques are not without his faults. First of all, his techniques are not new. He is not the only author who has written about buying real estate with nothing down. But, he writes about this topic in a very easy to understand manner.

In addition, some of Robert Allen’s procedures are geared for beginners. The savvy or sophisticated real estate investor has probably already tried many, if not all these processes. That said, I think sophisticated real estate investors can learn from some of the ideas outside of real estate, such as Multiple Streams of Internet Marketing. Robert Allen was writing about this phenomenon back in 2001, before it became the craze that it is today.

Some of Robert Allen’s techniques could be deemed too basic and general. But, if you are a newbie to real estate investing, this is exactly what you want to know. You certainly don’t want to be introduced to words like cap rate or net operating income, before you learn the basics of real estate investing.

Robert Allen’s systems, books and techniques are generally the right amount information. They’re especially appropriate for those of us who have a need for a baseline of knowledge. He then moves you through the various stages of experience level until you have the confidence to “talk the talk” and “walk the walk.”
